Hello there Catrin Ditz!
IoT Sweden welcomes Catrin Ditz as new programme manager. Catrin has extensive and wide-ranging experience in working with collaboration and digitalisation in public administration.
IoT Sweden would like to extend a warm welcome to you as the new programme manager.
“Thank you. It is very exciting and gratifying to be here.”
You worked most recently at the joint authority Storsthlm, where you served as process manager and digital strategist. Could you tell us more about your background?
“I have spent my entire professional life working at the crossroads between humans and technology, and for the last ten years with digitalisation in the public sector (mostly municipalities). My latest role as process manager is quite similar to the role of collaboration manager – to create interactions and benefits across systems, organisations and areas of expertise.”
What are you looking forward to in your new role as programme manager at IoT Sweden?
“A lot of things! Working closely with technology and being involved in driving the benefits of technology in welfare deliveries. It is particularly interesting to step into a programme that has been running for a long time and through which a lot has already happened. My focus in the final phase of the programme will be on lessons learned from the work completed. How do we apply all the lessons learned during the programme period?”
What previous experience do you think will be of benefit to you?
“I think my experience in the local government sector in general is particularly relevant. I have a good understanding of how municipalities work individually and, more so, together. That is both the challenge and the opportunity with this development. We need to get more done together, scale up good things, and foster the flow of knowledge across organisational boundaries. While it certainly is not easy, there is also enormous potential.”
What is required for municipalities and regions to be able to keep up with the rapid digital transformation currently taking place in society?
“Leadership. To really get the benefits we need from technological development for the public sector’s welfare deliveries, it takes more than municipalities and regions just keeping up. Municipalities and regions need to lead their development. That is why leadership is so important.”
How can IoT Sweden contribute to this?
“If IoT Sweden can (continue to) be a catalyst, a knowledge conveyor, an inspirational platform and a helper in this development, it would be fantastic.”
What is next in the pipeline?
“We have an ongoing call for proposals in which implementation projects will be selected for the final phases. It will be very interesting to see the outcome of that call and which projects are ultimately granted funding.”
